it opens with Beneatha in the living room and Walter laying on his bed the director notes make it important to mention the lighting gloomy but different than opening scene Asagai comes over Beneatha is upset about losing the money Beneatha looks back to a time where someone got hurt and the doctors fixed him  Beneatha seems to have lost her dream Asagai starts speaking truth to Beneatha making her upset he wants Beneatha to go to Africa with him Beneatha wants to be alone to think Walter grabs a piece of paper and leaves mama doesn't want to move anymore Walter calls Lindner  he wants to take the money Lindner is offering for the house Lindner comes to the house and mama wants travis to be there when Walter sells the house he then decides not to sell the house Beneatha mentions Asagai's offer and Walter says she should marry George  the act finishes with everyone going down to the moving truck and mama standing alone in the apartment and making peace ...

mamma mia review

Paige Borowski IB Lit and Performance SL 1 What a Night I viewed the play Mamma Mia written by Catherine Johnson on February 26th, 2020 at 2:30 pm in the blackbox theater. The play takes place on an island in Greece. Sophie Sheridan, played by Audra, searches for her father who she has never heard about. She finds a diary that belonged to Donna Sheridan, her mother. She discovers the names of three men, all of which have an equal chance of being her father. Their names were Harry Bright, played by Tony, Sam Carmichael, played by Jackson and Bill Anderson, played by Nate. She invites them all to her wedding, which takes place the next day. Donna, played by Elena, is accompanied by her two best friends and back up girls to her girl group, Donna and the Dynamos. Tanya, played by Jane and Rosie, played by Olivia, stick by her side throughout the play. Sophie tries to figure out who her father is and Donna struggles to deal with the fact that they’re here. starts a few weeks later they are packing George and Beneatha came in Beneatha refuses a kiss from George Beneatha and George are fighting again Beneatha thanks mama for "understanding me this time" mama and ruth interact with the neighbor, mrs Johnson  Mrs. Johnson is very enthusiastic  Mrs. Johnson is obnoxious and over bearing the Youngers don't like Mrs. Johnson  Walter hasn't been going into work mama gives Walter some of the money Walter tells travis that he will be able to give him anything

ruth is pregnant  mama is trying to take care of her a boy named Asagai comes over  he seems interested in Beneatha brings her a present Beneatha changes emotions kinda quickly she seems to like him assimilationist - a person who is for cultural and racial integration Mama likes Asagai for Beneatha Asagai is smart they receive the $10,000 cheque  Walter Lee is really excited about the cheque and has paper work for the liquor store but Mama wants him to talk to Ruth about the baby mamas upset about Ruth saying "she" in reference to the doctor but we dont know why Walter thinks money is life ruth might be aborting the baby Walter finds out but leaves instead of saying anything
