in class writing 9/24/19

"here is this hour," This line in the poem, Carpe Diem by Judith Ortiz Cofer means a lot to me. I often find myself panicking about the past or the future. I never truly take a minute to breathe, and live in the moment. It Is really important, especially for your well being. You need to focus and be in the moment instead of worrying about a troubling past or freaking out about what might be coming in the future. This sentence makes me want to stop. To close my eyes, breathe, and take a second to listen. Say what I hear to myself. Then, open my eyes. Tell myself what I see. Now, what I feel. If it's anxious, accept it. Don't go further into the fear of the future or the anxiety of the past because it will only make you feel worse. Notice the now and accept it. Live it.
