poem performance plan

What John and I are doing is a silent performance. No words will be spoken. We are doing a performance based on the poem, "Eating Poetry," I will walk in as the librarian and turn my attention to something else. John will already be in the stage. Instead of portraying a dog, he will portray a man. He will be reading the paper then decide to rip it. I will turn around and start crying. The whole time, John will be smiling. He will then turn to me, get on one knee, hold my hand in attempt to comfort me. I will continue crying.

We wanted to be very literal in this performance. We are doing almost exactly following the words on the page of the poem. We wanted to do a silent poem to really intrigue the audience and give that chilling feeling that you get when reading the poem. It will show that you don't need the words to get the chilling feeling from the poem.
